Background
Rwanda is now reviving from ashes, following a century characterized by tragic events in its history, which culminated into the horrendous genocide of 1994. Reconstruction of the national and social capital and sustainable development of the national space are two major aspirations of the country’s vision for the year 2020.
Provision of adequate shelter is a key objective in this vision. The Government of Rwanda is seeking to establish partnerships with the private sector to assist in achieving this grand objective.
The Project
The Proposed Housing Development project is conceptualized to commercial construct over 2,500 housing units of various standards, complete with all necessary services and infrastructure. The project was conceived as a response to an increasing housing demand in Rwanda and is meant for sale to the Rwandese in the country and in the Diaspora.
The Project is expected to be undertaken on turnkey basis with the responsibility for architectural and engineering design; construction being fully borne by the joint partnership between FLEMING MANAGEMENT and EFFE 1, INC (U.S.A).
